The Foundation and Dr. Sprawls have a long and productive collaboration with the Xi'an University.  This includes the development and implementation of some innovative educational programs in radiology and the translation and publication of a textbook to enhance the educational programs.
A major factor contributing to advances in Chinese medical education was the establishment of the Emory University-Xi'an Cooperative Program in Radiology. This provided for faculty exchanges and a variety of projects to share Emory experience to enhance medical imaging and education in Xi'an.
A special event, shown above, was the dedication of the Medical Imaging Education Center sponsored by the Sprawls Educational Foundation.  This introduced the use of computer and digital technology for radiology education.
