James Donald King, 79, of National Health Care of Mauldin, SC, passed away on
Friday, February 15, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in
Greenville, he was the son of the late Max B. King and the late Blanche King. He
is survived by his wife, Dianne Harrison King of Greenville, SC. He was co-owner
of Inter-Serv, Inc. for 22 years. He graduated from Anderson Boys High School
and Clemson University, where he was an
outstanding athlete, having lettered in football from 1952-1955. He was
nominated into the Clemson University Hall of Fame and the T.L.
Hanna Hall of Fame. He was a developer of Cobb's Glen Golf Course in Anderson.
Surviving are sons, James Donald King, Jr. (Kay) of Anderson, and Marcus
Edward King (Collete), of Smyrna, Ga.; daughter, Brandon King Spratt (Thomas) of
Ft. Mill, SC; brother, Larry King (Ann); sisters, Jeanne Ashley, Sherry Hazzard,
both of Anderson, and Brenda Saylors of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Allison,
Will, Whitney and Spencer King, Thos and Mary Fields Spratt.
In addition
to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Max B. King, Jr., and a
sister, Frances Hamilton
