Grenville DeLorme "Doc" Morgan
Grenville DeLorme "Doc" Morgan, 77, of Greenville, passed on Saturday, April 21,
2012.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Mildred DeLorme and George Rose
Morgan.
Mr. Morgan graduated from Greenville High School in 1952 and Clemson University
in 1956; he was a long-time member of Church of the Redeemer Episcopal. He was a
Veteran of the U.S. Army; retired from I.H. Services, Inc.; was formerly
employed with J.P. Stevens, Pioneer Heddle and Reed Company and Industrial
Supply Company.
Mr. Morgan also served as a past president of the Greenville Touchdown Club,
past president of the Clemson Lettermen's Club, past president of the
Greenville/Clemson Basketball Club and served on the Clemson Board of Visitors.
He was also past president of the Cotillion Club. An avid golfer, he was a
member of a longstanding golf group called the "Dirty Dozen" at Greenville
Country Club.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Carol Brandenburg Morgan, formerly of
Bamberg, SC; his son "Doc" Jr. and his wife, Julia, of Greenville; two daughters
Elizabeth Riley Morgan of Greenville, and Carol Ann Farmer and her husband,
Mike, of Chapin; three grandchildren, Carly and Abby Morgan, and Molly Morgan "MoMo"
Farmer.
